It's A Wonderful Life- Trained Squirrel

I have probably seen this traditional Christmas Classic, "It's A Wonderful Life," at least 50 times in my 72 years, yet this year was the first time that I saw the brief cameo appearance of a trained squirrel in the movie. We all know that Uncle Billie had a trained crow that used to land on him every time he entered the Baily Building and Loan. But, the squirrel only shows up at the end of the encounter that George Baily has with Uncle Billie after he confronts him in anger over losing the $8000.00 that he was supposed to deposit in the bank.

It's a very brief scene that happens after George Baily leaves and Billy puts his head down on his desk to cry. The squirrel climbs up on his right arm as if to comfort him in his misery. It's so brief that probably thousands of people who have watched the movie over the years missed it too.

I would be interested to hear how many of you missed it also!? I'll bet that in the future all who read this will be watching for this squirrel cameo! Just thought I would share this bit of Squirrel trivia.

Hello Mr. Sells, That's quite a story about the squirrel with Uncle Billy! I have also seen It's A Wonderful Life for years, since the 1960's. it's a favourite of mine. That part in the movie is very touching - and I didn't notice the squirrel either!
I live in South wester Ontario, Canada. We have pretty cold winters here. Last winter I was looking out on our porch and noticed a squirrel walking on the front railing, and I thought ... where do they get food in these bitter cold days. That's when I realized I had to help them out. I began feeding them peanuts under a tree outside our garage , under a tree. They love it, and look forward to my daily feedings in morning and late afternoon. I'm hooked on caring for them, and the bluejays! They all get along vey well. Right now Im making a squirrel house in my garage.
Thank you for your personal information.
L hope Lucky is doing very well!
Cheers to you and Lucky!

There’s also a dog in Uncle Billeys office.

My grandchildren and I rescued a one day old squirrel from the park. We bottle fed him until he was old enough to be freed and took him to a squirrel shelter where they could teach him how to be in the wild. Several months later they sent us a letter that he was free.

This is my favorite movie. I've probably seen it over 100 times, and I'm half everyone's age here lol, and I just noticed it for the first time too while watching right now!

Help!!! My 7 month old squirrel is urinating uncontrollably, breathing rapidly, wobbly and whining. She has been healthy and happy until today. She has been eating squirrel complete by exotic nutrition and deluxe squirrel. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated! We love our Pipp!
